Abbigael Coyle
Trainer
Abbigael Coyle has been riding for several years, developing a deep passion for the connection between horse and rider. She is a senior at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, when she was drawn to the beautiful campus and the supportive, close-knit atmosphere that allows for personalized growth. Abbigael will graduate in May 2026 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Equine Therapy, and she intends to continue her education by pursuing graduate studied in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Abbigael's competitive career is marked by high-level success in both intercollegiate and WEC shows. In 2024, she placed 4th in the Nation at the IHSA Nationals in Walk-Trot and Novice divisions. Her accolades include being named Regional Reserve Champion in Walk-Trot Horsemanship and placing 6th in the Semi-Finals for the same division. In 2025, Abbigael transitioned her success to the World Equestrian Center (WEC), where she was crowned Hunter Champion in Cross Rails and competed in Cross-Rails Equitation.
Throughout her journey Abbigael has had the privilege of riding under the tutelage of industry professionals such as Tabitha Taylor, Sarah Kenderdine, Alexis Cobb, and Jobeth Wiberley. For the past two years, she has served as an Equine Equitation Instructor at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, where she has refined her ability to communicate technical skills to riders of various levels.
Driven by a lifelong mission to help those around her, Abbigael integrates her background in Psychology and Behavior into her training. She focuses on understanding the "why" behind equine behaviro to foster a positive, science-based environment in the arena. She is dedicated to helping her students achieve their competitive goals while building a foundation of trust, clear communication, and horse-and-rider wellness. Her training philosophy is rooted in the belief that understanding the "why" behind behavior is the key to a successful, trusting partnership.
